So as I’ve mentioned before, a lot of my artwork has gotten around the internet. I think this is awesome as it’s a sign that my stuff is catching on and getting noticed. However it’s come to my attention that some people have been using my designs without my permission for profit, as was the case with Etsy user ThisGeeksCloset (real name Joshua Phillips). He was using my black and white stormtrooper design to screen print t-shirts and sell them for $20 each. Here’s the exchange we had:
me: Hi, this listing was brought to my attention as I am the one who originally designed it, and was not asked for permission nor was I credited for the design (Which I originally created in January 2008, dated here outsiderzero.deviantart.com/art/Stormtrooper-stencil-design-74278014). Please remove this item before I have to take further action.
him: Okay, I wasn’t aware that it was your’s since I found it image searching. And when I found it, it gave you no deserved credit. So sorry if I took it from you but maybe you should also go after the person that put it on there.
He took it down which was all well and good, but he couldn’t leave well enough alone.
Also I noticed you are using a Lucus (sic) owned image as your profile picture. And as I said, when I found said image, there was no wear mark giving you credit. Just to let you know.
Really guy? This is how you’re going to play it? (for the record, this is what I use for my Etsy profile picture
). The difference here is that A. I made it myself as opposed to stealing it from online somewhere, and B. I’m not selling using someone else’s work, time, and effort.
So the bottom line, don’t use my stuff for profit. If you would like to use it for personal use, email me at patking13(at)gmail.com, let me know what you’re going to make, and then provide pictures when you finish. Chances are I’ll say yes if it’s for personal use, and if you show what you’re doing.
More Reddit goodness, now in the form of a triptych. Check it out!
This guy did a really awesome ping pong table using my stormtrooper design.

I had no idea my stuff was so widespread!
My favorite comics blog, Comics Alliance has a feature on my Imperial Saints! Go check it out!
I’ve been working on a Black Coffee Jones origin story as of late, and have been making some new models/revamping models from previous videos. Here’s a sample:

My mom’s birthday was a couple weeks back, and she loves my artwork so I thought I would make something a little different than usual. I hadn’t done any stenciling in a while, and thought it would be fun to do something a little looser and more abstract than I usually do, so I made this with spray paint, then added some details with Prismacolor markers, a sharpie, and a silver calligraphy pen.
