Austin Comic Con 2011!

It’s that time of year again! Austin Comic Con was a blast again this year, and it was way bigger than last year.

Imperial Saints featured!

My favorite comics blog, Comics Alliance has a feature on my Imperial Saints! Go check it out!

Captain America trailer (YES)

This movie (and by extension this summer) can’t get here soon enough.

Wizard World Austin!

The first major comic convention in Austin in a loooooooong time, and my first con since getting into comics a few years ago! I dressed up as Deadpool, and surprisingly was the only Deadpool at the show, so I ended up getting mobbed every few feet by people asking for pictures. I managed to snag a few myself though:

Art show pics!

As I mentioned, my art is on display at Austin Books this month! I went by yesterday afternoon and took some pictures of the show, it looks fantastic! Come on out and see it in person!

Hey Austin folks!

My artwork is now on display at Austin Books!! My stuff is completely covering their back wall in the back issue room, and I’ll be posting pictures of the show soon, but be sure to go check it out in person!

Something quick and silly

So on Twitter for the past couple days there has been a trending topic of Marvel Kitties, or #mrvlcats, so I figured I’d throw my own entry in:
Deadpool Kitty

Get ready…

My favorite comic shop, Austin Books, will be showing off my artwork for the month of October! So come out then and check out a bunch of my stuff, prints of which will be on sale!

God Loves Geeks (but not the Westboro Baptist Church)

The San Diego Comic Con is in full swing, and oddly enough this year the jackasses people of the Westboro Baptist Church (best known for their insane, loathsome “God Hates Fags” protests at soldier funerals) protested at SDCC. Thankfully, geeks tend to be a clever sort, and here was the result (pics from io9.com and Comics Alliance):

Also Chris Sims of The Invincible Super Blog and Comics Alliance, two sites of which I highly approve, interviewed DC writer Gail Simone about the protests.

God bless the geeks

Bit of Awesome, 7/2

First off is this:

Besides being incredibly cute and geeky, I’m really impressed with how they did it, in that I’m not 100% sure. Some of the shots look like they rigged up a toy AT-AT like a marionette, and other shots look too smooth to not be CGI. In any case, it’s a fun little film.

One of my friends recently picked up Blur for his Xbox 360, which is a crazy fun game that’s basically Mario Kart-style gameplay with realistic cars and racetracks. More notably is that the opening cinematic uses this track (not exactly sure what’s going on in the video, but the song is great):

Which is an awesome remix of my favorite Ennio Morricone track:

This next one is from Valve’s upcoming Portal 2, introducing Wheatley, a hilariously inept yet charming personality sphere:

Oh Valve, is there nothing you can’t do?

Oh yeah, they can also make great Team Fortress 2 comics to further enhance the awesomeness that is TF2.
